Uranus
Part 1
By Heidi Colom
"Oh no! Hoggish Greedly is gunna fry us!" Wheeler yelled.
"Then let our powers combine! Earth!" Kwame said.
        "Fire!"
        "Wind!"
        "Water!"
"Heart!" the other Planeteers joined in.
"By all your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!"
        "Go Planet!"
Captain Planet was beating the crap out of Hoggish Greedly, but Ma-Ti and Wheeler could not help but notice that he did not look happy.

Before they headed back to Hope Island, Wheeler asked Captain Planet, "Cap, you look sad. What's up?"
"When you guys called me, you woke me up from the worst dream I have ever had."
"What happened? Ozone layer broke? Nuclear war exploded?"
"Worse. Gaia dumped me. For some guy named Uranus."
"What the? Come on Cap, you have been watching too much TV. There's no way she's gunna dump you for a guy with a name as pathetic as Uranus."
"Who's Uranus? I wonder why I got that name. The guy looked like Brad Pitt, only better."
"'You forgot about Uranus! Good bye, everybody!'" said Wheeler, quoting from the Animaniacs. "Probably just irrational fears. She's not gunna dump you for anyone. She loves you dude!"
"And I love her too," Planet said.

But Captain Planet could not shake his fear. He asked the Planeteers for clues about who could Uranus be.
"Ladies, who's Uranus?" he asked Linka and Gi on the way back home.
"Uranus is the Sailor Scout of the sky!" Gi said giddily.
"Da, also known as Haruka Tenou!" Linka added. The girls sure were big Sailor Moonies. "Why?"
"Because I dreamed before you guys called me up that Gaia left me for someone named Uranus."
"Just `cause she has a crush on a cartoon character does not mean she's gunna dump you. Hello, Cartoon Character, and it was just a dream!"
"Besides, Uranus is a female, not too feminine, but still a girl!" The girls sure were confused.
"Nah, this Uranus was certainly a guy. And you would have liked to see him."
        The firls exchanged strange looks.

So Captain Planet then asked Kwame and Ma-Ti.
"Guys, do you know anything about Uranus?"
"Yeah, the seventh planet of the solar system," both guys said.
"Well, I guess then I have nothing to worry about," CP said.
"What is he talking about?" Kwame asked his little buddy.
"Something's not right with him. His heart seems to ache," Ma-Ti answered.

When they got back to Hope Island, Gaia greeted them all with a big hug. Captain Planet pulled her aside for a walk and asked her, dodging the Planeteers (who went to raid their fridges): "Who's Uranus?"
"Uranus?" Gaia showed surprise and concern, blushing a bit.
"Yeah. Last night I dreamed that you left me for a guy named Uranus."
"Okay, how do I put this? Uranus is the spirit of the planet Uranus. When we first came to be, we were always together. He protected the earth's skies. He was my first love."
"Oh no, so my dream was right." Captain Planet sighed.
"No, there's more to the story." Gaia calmed him down with a quick kiss. "We were in love, but all of a sudden, for reasons I have yet to find out, he could not correspond my love anymore."
"Say what? Why would anyone not love you anymore?" To him loving her and the planet was number one.
"Lemme put it this way. He would be more interested in you than in me now."
"Too bad for him I am taken!" He hugged her to try to hide his expression of shock.
"So he and I were no more. I was very sad and almost fell prey to Zarm and his tricks...but I realized what a jerk and how bad he was early, so I banished him to outer space. Eventually I found the right guy, and fell in love with him." She smiled at him, and kissed his lips. The smile returned to his face.

"Aw, how romantic!" Wheeler said as he walked in. "So that's who the famous Uranus guy is! If he comes by, tell him I have a girlfriend and she will use her Wind power to blast him off!"
"He won't come. He has his own planet to take care of. Besides, I have not heard from him since he left me."
"All right, Planeteers! The (kissed Gaia) power (kisses her again!) is (and again) yours!"

That night...

"See Wheeler? That's Saturn right there!" Linka was showing Wheeler the planets through her telescope."
"And where is Uranus?" Where said almost giggling.
"Uranus is right over there!" Linka moved her telescope.
"That planet is queer! Its axis is horizontal instead of vertical like it shoud be!" Kwame added.
"Hey, to each planet its own thing! Although Neptune is cooler cause it's the Water type one!" Gi said.
"Hey, guys, check that out!" Ma-Ti pointed at something that looked like a comet.
"That's strange. I don't remember reading about a comet coming!" Linka said.
"It looks more like it's gonna land on earth!" Wheeler said, a bit alarmed.
"Then wouldn't it be a meteor?" Gi asked.
But whatever it was, it seemed like it was looking for a particular place to land. And it was coming towards them. Gaia went to see what was going on.
"That's no comet. That's no meteor. That's....URANUS!!!!" She had never been so shocked. It was the man who had been in her dreams so many centuries ago. But why would he be coming now? Not that she could not use the help in saving her planet from the polluters.
"So that's the famous Uranus?" The Planeteers were in disbelief.
"Combine your powers now! It could be a trap!" Gaia told them, just in case. But Gaia did not suspect another reason she would be glad that she called Captain Planet.

And Uranus finally landed. Gi and Linka nearly melted--he was the most handsome guy they had ever seen. Kwame and Ma-Ti could not help but stare too--how they would have liked to look like that. Wheeler had eavesdropped on his friends, though, and did not know whether to guard Linka against him or have her guard him! Uranus was all gold except for his blue gear and eyes. He sure was perfect looking. Captain Planet's brown eyes were turning green with jealousy.

"Hello, Gaia. You look as beautiful as ever," were Uranus' first words.
