Frequently asked questions :

1. Can our band just play the songs like we're playing live?
- Absolutly. This would be the preferred method with a few exceptions: Bass and keyboards would probably be recorded direct without using amplifiers. Monitoring would be done through headphones. Vocals can be overdubbed after the initial tracks are cut to get the cleanest vocal sound possible.

2. Do we need to play at a lower volume?
- Not necessarily. Get YOUR sound, whatever level that might be.

3. Won't our instruments be bleeding into the other mics?
- Very little actually.

4. How long does it take for you to set up?
- Allow an hour to an hour and a half for me to load in, set up, set levels, etc.

5. What types of music do you record?
- We welcome all musical genres. Blues to bluegrass, acoustic folk to industrial metal, and anything in between.

6. At a live gig, how do we use our PA system in conjunction with your recording gear?
- I have 3 high quality mic signal splitters that would be used mainly for vocals. Everything else could be double mic'ed.(Your mics going to the PA, mine going to the recording gear.) Additional charges would apply if you need all mics split to cover the rental cost of a "splitter snake". An alternative would be that I could patch my console into your power amps and speakers and do your live house sound while making the recording. !!NEW!! - We are now able to offer small venue PA services for your live recording! Call for pricing and details.

7. What do you mean by "external project"?
- If you have ADAT tapes of your music made elsewhere, then I can do your computer automated mixdowns. Also if you've created songs on a MIDI sequencer, whether it be hardware or software, I can load the individual audio tracks in the computer and do your mixdowns using the highest quality plug in effects and processing.

8. Do you do CD duplication?
- YES. You would either receive 1 or 2 CDs to take to a duplication facility, or we can provide this service for you. At this time, however, we don't have the capabilities for printing text or artwork on CDs or doing jewel case inserts.

9. What do we need to do before you arrive?
- Make sure your material is well rehearsed and if possible can be played without vocals. New strings usually sound better. Make sure the intonation is correct on bass and guitars. Listen closely for any squeaks, buzzes, or rattles on the drums and eliminate them.( A little WD40 can really help a squeaking kick pedal.)
