Beneficial Art is a non-for-profit art based event, conceived with the intent of benefiting everyone involved. We hope to raise awareness as well as financial support for local organizations and individuals alike. The event takes place on October 18, 2003 from 1pm to 1am at 1620 Delmar; right behind the City Museum. |

Included in the structure is a gypsy caravan style venue for visual artists, as well as a juried art show. The day will bring interaction with those in attendance with such activities as painting on canvas, designing your own jewelry, receiving a henna tattoo or massage, shopping at a men's style boutique for ties and garments, browsing the local art of crafts, jewelry, photography, glass, pottery, paintings, etc; or purchasing art at an auction. One could become a musician during open mic; or enjoy the talent of performance artists with music, comedy and poetry readings. |

Food
and drinks with also contribute to making the event a place for those
to enjoy all day and night.

Our
poster children for the evening include: CAMP (Community Arts and
Media Project)/Confluence publications, What's Up Magazine and SCOSAG
(The South City Open Studio and Gallery for Children).
The concept is to combine Art, Music and Performance into one event that
will give individuals the ability to raise awareness for their causes
while benefiting everyone in attendance: the activist, artist, musician,
and attendee alike. We would like to provide an event where everyone is
left with the feeling of having given and received.
The revenue from the set ticket price will go directly to the featured organizations. |
