April 11th - Berkeley Castle Easter Extravaganza. Wonderful warm sunshine, good crowd, very appreciative (even laughed at the jokes!) Collected £91.70 for the Acorns Hospice - a great start to the season. Well done everybody, especially Barbara for shaking the tin. Christine made her debut, dancing and playing
April 18th - Cardiff Ladies Spring Capers
April 23rd - St George's Day. Gloucester Cathedral 6.30pm - 7.30pm, then after the service at drinks reception for Royal Society of St George. Click here to read 'true' story of St George Smith.
April 24th - Longford Village Hall for St George's Celebrations 1pm
May 1st - May Hill 5am with Lassington Oak MM. FoD MM etc
May 2nd - Blackfriars Priory, Ladybellegate Street, Gloucester, Open Day for GHURC
Very pleasant afternoon. Presented our cheque for £500 to Nigel Beames of 'Dogs for the Disabled' and 'Teddy' ( who was unimpressed!)
May 3rd - Upton Folk Festival The procession was even longer than usual!
May 9th - Leonard Stanley School Fete. A bit windy and cold, but we went down well with the audience.
May 10th - Churn Project, Cirencester. Very hot, huge crowd.
May 16th - Barnwood Fun Day (aka Victorian Fete) Were able to perform '16th May' on the correct day for some years! Forgot to sing Happy Birthday to Fiona! 8 dancers and three musos, although nearly rained off, we performed very well under all the circumstances.
May 18th - Pilot Inn Hardwicke, collected £15.02 for Acorns Hospice
May 22nd - Tewkesbury Nursing Home, Bushley. We only had four dancers and two musos, but were able to give an excellent performance in the Resident's Lounge. Must remember to take some carpet with us when we dance out! Adapted several dances 'on the hoof' (sorry!)The new Mayor and Mayoress of Tewkesbury Town, The Worshipful Councillor & Mrs Workman, were in the appreciative audience
May 25th - Chippenham Folk Festival
May 28th - Black Horse Cranham, collected £13.20 for Acorns Hospice
June 1st - Green Dragon, Cockleford with Ragged & Old Morris. A really pleasant evening, all very friendly, collected £24.56 for Acorns Hospice
June 6th - Cheltenham College Junior School Workshop. Taught about 100 Year 5 and Year 6 children some dances - Grenoside Processional, Shepherd's Hey, and Cuckoo's Nest - who then did a performance for the enthusiastic parents at the end of the morning. The resulting collection for our charity amounted to a massive £58.23! Very friendly, lovely atmosphere, doughnuts in abundance!
