April 26: A Year of Caches

*Last week was March, last month was April, and now it's apparently June.

We've been caching for a year now. We're #87 in the world, but his list is suspect. Still, 1045 caches is not exactly bad. Of course, it's taken over our lives, as proven by the fact that we uploaded maps to the GPS from my computer, and it took at least 2 hours.

I mailed off the round robin!!! I discovered priority mail, and how come I haven't done it that way before? I think it was probably half the price it would have cost using a manila envelope and I wasn't sure I had one strong enough anyway, for the clippings. Most of the clippings I'll be showing kids in person, starting when Vince visits.

Summer league of bowling started today. We finally got a fourth person! We lost all the games today. I did so-so... 112, 113, and finally a 143. I did convert a 5-7 split, so I felt pretty good about that.

We took Sailor to jail, and then stopped at AAA and got a whole bunch of maps. Rich created a cup holder so his GPS can use the lighter while I have a drink. He also put the box he made for the van into the back of the car, so we should have a lot of necessary emergency supplies.

The Kings won, in a very exciting game.

Yesterday was the anniversary of the loss of 179 soldiers killed during an 8-day practice for D-Day. I noticed this yesterday, and Rush mentioned it this morning. While our losses in Iraq are sad, they hardly are in the same league.

News from Iraq, and more.

James Schlesinger, why it's important to be the strong horse.

We have to defeat them.

The Short Happy Life of John F. Kerry.

He's running a horrible campaign:

I guess your staff did not get the memo, huh, Senator? Running for a Senate seat in Massachusetts is not quite representative of running for President.

You see, Senator, you've been playing political baseball with a Triple-A team for the past 30 years. Now, you're the starting pitcher in game 7 of the World Series.

Flip-Floppin' Away.
