And keeps them from bringing other to Christ. 6. Coming to Christ will take all the fun out of life. Coming to Christ means you are submitting to one who is the rigthful ruler of your life.Does that mean there will be boundaries for you.Of course it does. We tell our children "No" and expect them to live in a disciplined manner because we want themto be productive, worthwhile, and liked. So what's the problem? What's good enough for our children isn't good enough for us? Because a parent wants his child to amount to something, does that make him kill-joy? Or does it maen he's working for his child's long term joy? Autually the Lord is the author of joy and pleasure. "In his presence there is fullness of joy, at his right hand there are pleasuees for evermore." But he wants to give pleasure without guilt, joy without need of judgment. To say that being a Chistian takes all the fun out of life is like spreading a rumor just before christmas that the toymaker hates for children to have fun. the toymaker invents ways for them to have fun. Yes, pleasure without refernce to standards has to go. But low living, boundryless pleasure is hollow, ruins lives, and gets people hurt. Is that really fun? 7.Christians are no better than anyone else. It certainly is not true that just because a person is a chirstian,he will always do better than someone else just because that person isn't a christian. Christians time and again prove themselves to be capale sinners. Sin just looks so much worse on a christian. It's such a contrast with what you have a right to expect and satan, the accuser of the brethren, makes sure that plenty of people notice. And yes, when a christiaan sins, it gives others an excuse to say , "I'm just as good as any christian, Why do I need to come to Christ ? But the honest truth is that Chirstians for the most part live higher and more noble lives than unbelievers . And by the way , part of how good a person is must be measured by how he treats God. Those Who reject Christ don't even compare in that area of life. So how are you doing in loving the Lord ? Are you believing a lie that will keep you distant from CHRIST page3of4 |
