MATERIA LOCATIONS

These are the locations of the Materia that don't come in your way. (In other words, you have to look out for them.)
There is only one location for those Materia that can be bought from more than one shop. For some Materia that comes with a character (Yuffie - Throw, Cait - Manipulate.....), they won't be available in shops until later in the game. So browse the shops and see if they have what you have missed.
Green Magic Materia

Revive Materia shop in Junon's upper area
Earth Kalm Town
Heal Shop in Gongaga.
Mystify Shop in Gongaga.
Time Shop in Gongaga.
Barrier Shop in Rocket Town
Exit Shop in Rocket Town
Comet Near the end of Disc One. In the Forgotten Capital, go the fish (or path that leads to the Forgotten City if at night) at the end of this area. Go round until you reach the top.
Contain Go to the Chocobo Farm and buy the most expensive vegetable. Go to Mideel (Village on the Southeastern Island) and feed one of the chocobos with it. When given an option of where to touch, choose the ear.
FullCure In Disc 2, go to Cosmo Canyon's item shop. The door which has been closed all the while during Disc 1, should be open by then. Go to the back of the shop and you will find it along with a few other items.
Shield In the Northern Crater, where you choose your team members where to head, go left. In the next screen, go to the upper cave.
Ultima During the quest for the Huge Materias, at North Corel. Over there, you must stop the train. One tip on catching up the train, don't press up and Triangle too quickly. Try different speeds of pressing and you should be able to figure it out. If you didn't stop the train in time, you can still buy it from the little boy for 50,000 gil.
Red Summon Materia
Materia How and Where
Choco/Mog Talk to the Chocobos in the farm after you come out of Midgar.
Titan Go to the ruins behind Gongaga Town, Tseng and Scarlet will talk about the Materia there. Search the area and you will get it.
Odin Shinra House in Nibelhiem. Open the safe. Combination: Right 36, Left 10, Right 59, Right 97. Defeat Lost Number.
Leviathan Get Yuffie in your team. Go to the five-storey temple behind Wutai. Beat the five levels.
Kjata In the Sleeping Forest's second screen (the screen that tends to repeat if you don't have the Lunar Harp). Search for something moving about near the top right of the screen. Catch it and you will get Kjata.
Alexander Go to the hot spring to obtain some of the water. Head for the house after that (the house you will always end up in when you fall unconscious). Then go back to the area where you need to stick poles into the ground for direction. Once you reach that screen, start heading to the right side and follow that way whenever the direction changes. Then you will come to a path that is snowy. Keep heading right then you will come to an icy path. Keep heading right some more and you will come to a path with snow and rocks. You will come to the correct cave eventually.
Hades If you have the sub, swim to the part near the Gold Saucer. Look for the sunken Shinra Airplane. After fighting Reno and Rude in the airplane, run to the room where they were investigating. This Materia should be near the broken helicopter.
Typhoon This is a tricky one. You have to get to the third area of the Ancient Forest. Get to the tree top and browse the areas on the far right. Typhoon comes in a bag. See the Map regarding the location of Ancient Forest.
Bahamut ZERO Many people do not know this, until they have play this game very thoroughly. The Bahamut ZERO Materia can be obtained after the quest for the Huge Materias. When you put them in the Space Hologram Room in the Cosmo Canyon, touch the Blue one. If you have Bahamut and Neo Bahamut, you will get this one.
Knights Of Round This Materia is located on the Round Island at the NE region of the Map. See Chocobo Breeding and the Map.
Yellow Command Materia

Mime The Materia cave in the western part of the map. See Chocobo Breeding and the Map.
Slash All Ancient Forest's second screen.
Double Cut Reseach room in the sunken Shinra ariplane.
W-Item During the invasion of Midgar, in the railway, go the the other end of the railway to Sector 8. You will come to it eventually.
W-Magic In the Northern Crater, look for the screen with a source of bright light. W-Magic is somewhere in the trees behind.
W-Summon Get 64000 BP in the Battle Arena and you can change for this at the counter.
Enemy-Skill 1st- In Midgar, where you defeat Hojo's experiment.
2nd- In the upper levels of Junon. Go into the shops at the roadside. One of them will lead to a basement with a few translucent men.
3rd- In the Forgotten Capital, where you sleep and wake up in the middle of the night at the end of Disc 1.
4th- With the Green Chocobo in the old man's house between the mountains in the Icicle Area.
Blue Support Materia
Materia How and Where
Elemental This one is located in the Nibel Mountains. There's another one eariler in the game, where you have to guess the mayor's password.
Steal as well In the mountains behind Wutai, there's cave. If you've cross the submarine part, you should have Leviathan Scales. Now you can browse the cave for items.
Counter in the Northern Crater, look for the screen with a source of bright light. This Materia is just beside that bright light.
Magic Counter Race you Chocobo in 'S' class at Gold Saucer. Look out for the prizes. Don't bet, it's a waste of money when you can race for free.
Quadra Magic The Materia cave in the eastern part of the map. See Chocobo Breeding and the Map.
Sneak Attack Just like Magic Counter, it is also one of the prizes.
Added Cut In the Frozen River part. If you look at the map (press Square), you will see a few key areas. Theis Materia is located at the area right-most of the map. If you reach that part study that area. There are actully 4 paths, one leading to the south, one north, and two west. Head to the northern path. In the second screen after that, look for a shiny blue object in the snow.
Final Attack Get the W-Summon at the battle square (it costs 64000 BP). Then they will give you a new set of enemies to fight in another option. Complete it for the first time and you will get this. I used this with Phoenix.
Violet Independent Materia
Materia How and Where
Enemy Lure Get 250 BP in Gold Saucer's Battle Arena and you can change for this one.
Enemy Away One of the prizes in Chocobo Racing in 'S' class.
Pre-emptive Get ? (1000 BP I think) in the Battle Arena.
Speed Plus Get 4000 BP in the Battle Arena.
Gil Plus / Exp Plus Get 1000 / 2000 GP and go to the Wonder Square and change them for these Materia with the lady.
HP <-> MP The Materia cave in the cetner part of the map. See Chocobo Breeding and the Map.
Underwater During Disc 2, you may have gone through the underwater tunnel in Junon. This place can be accessed anytime in Disc 3.
