The differences between the oceans are neat. The Atlantic Ocean is more greenish in color, and much warmer. The beach is full of shells, which will crunch under your feet if you don't watch out!!! I spent most of my childhood beach fun days along the Atlantic Ocean, so I guess that would have to be my favorite ocean. Swimming during the day, trying to catch those perfect waves to take your body as close to shore as possible is a thrill. And of course, who could beat the night fun along the boardwalk!!! I sometimes enjoy sitting on the beach at night and listening to the waves crash along the shore. Sometimes it sounds like a roar, and the wind blows briskly through your hair. Oh, by the way, there is no better place in the world to fly a kite, throw a Frisbee, or play volleyball or football than on the beach!!! |

I have been to the Pacific Ocean, where the water is cold. It tingles your body after being out in the hot sun, for any length of time. The water is blue and crystal. The waves are more of a challenge, and the sand is soft between your toes. When the sun sets along the ocean, the water reflects the colors, and it's like a double sunset. |
The Gulf of Mexico is much calmer. I've been there three times that I can recall, and each time the water was calm, the bluest of blues, and so clear that you can see down to your toes in the water. The water is so calm, that you can actually swim with the fish, and find the best shells on the ocean floor. |

On a recent trip to Seattle, Washington with my Boy Scout Troop, I visited the "Puget Sound". It's an inland waterway from the Pacific Ocean. This photo was taken on the ferry "Tacoma", as we fed the Seagulls on our way to Boy Scout Summer Camp! |
