(I have never seen so many pictures of me with my glasses. These people have no idea how rare they really are. I may have to wear contacts from now on. I don't care how red my eyes get.)

[I think I also have to marry Mike. I know I said I was in love with Fred, and I still want us to be married by an Elvis impersonator, but Mike told me by e-mail that he's had Fleeting Imprints bookmarked forever and a day, felt like an idiot for not connecting the Carol in Vegas with your humble journaler, and was sad when I stopped updating. You can actually thank (or curse) him for my current streak.

Mike, you are my inspiration, baby. You, Fred and me can live together all cozy like. We'll move to Utah, if we have to, and I'll even let Allison, Anna Beth and Hannah stop by, because I know they can't resist the Berminator.]

I'm stunned. Seven hours later, and I'm still stunned. Trying to wrap my brain around the concept and meeting with very little success. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

It's about my job. This job I've been saying that I hate, that I need to leave. I just don't know how to react to what happened today.

I got a promotion.

P. and the V.P. I work for pulled me into the V.P.'s office, saying they needed to talk to me, and as we sat down at the table, V.P closed the door. Uh oh, I thought. This can't be good.

That was when they told me I've been promoted, mainly because V.P. appreciated "the way I stepped up to the plate" when S. left and P. and I had to figure out how to close one fiscal year and open another with little direction (I'm the resident expert on our computer system now that S. is gone, and there were a lot of things that I didn't know, but had to figure out). Personally, I just did what had to be done. What was I going to do, let P. founder? Just not my style.

Not only do I have a new title, but I'm getting a 12% merit increase and an 8% promotion increase. Starting February 1st, my income is going up by 20%.

Merit increases are usually no more than 4%, and I've gotten that 4% every year since I started working permanently at Disney. To get one so high is almost unheard of.

Looks like I'll be able to afford that new car payment after all. Maybe I should start working a little harder, too.
