Frances Tang
is an Australian multi-media artist, filmmaker, and performer, currently
residing in Melbourne, Victoria. Recognized as the face of the Melbourne
Fringe festival 1995, and shortlsted for the woman's artist award
of Arts Victoria 1999, Frances is an independent and collaborative
artist with a distinctive inter-disciplinary approach, exploring
the intra-relationships between diverse cultures, and of art and
technology.
Her past work
ranges from paintings of Japanese butoh dreamscapes, graffiti inspired
photography, digital art where
Industrial meets the organic, performances juxtaposing Chinese traditional
opera with electronica and contemporary spoken word/prose radio
broadcasts.
Frances Tang
is a recent graduate from VCA School of Film and Television and
a former graduate in fine art/painting at The Royal Melbourne Institute
Of Technology. Frances has also studied Chinese traditional opera
at Shanghai Kunju OperaTroupe in China and arts programs in the
US.
