Dreams have always had great meaning to the Native American culture . It is believed that the night air is filled with good and bad dreams .These dreams are captured in the Dreamcatcher web and only good dreams , being smart ,will find their way down through the centre hole and float down the sacred feathers to the sleeping one . The bad dreams , being stupid, become entangled in the web where they perish at the first morning light.

Origin : Originated by the Ojibwe Nation

Dreamcatchers were originally hung from a babies cradle to protect the child from bad nightmares .It means breath , or air , while the baby was entertained by the feather moving with the air , it also taught him the importance of having good air . The feather of the owl is kept for wisdom (a woman's feather) and the eagle feather is kept for courage (a man's feather).

It is said that Dreamcatchers catch and hold everything evil ,

as does a spiders web hold everything that comes in contact

with it.

Dreamcatchers are hung above the bed to bless the sleeping one, it is said to bring peaceful dreams , good luck and harmony to ones life.
