Magnum seems to be doing a little better yesterday and today. He was in the water for 15 minutes today. He did some swimming, hopping (which he isn't supposed to do) and wading. He's hopping because the lake is low right now. We haven't had any rain for weeks so the water level is down. Kurt has to go out pretty far to get Magnum out far enough that he will swim.
He is also getting a short walk in the evening. I think he may be ready to extend his walk a little. I'd like to start taking him on our short walking circuit down the road for a bit which goes uphill and then downhill to the lake, swim in the lake and work our way toward "our section" (nobody owns the shoreline or any piece of the lake) of lake and our street, and then back home again. That would be a pretty good workout for him for now. I need to remember to increase his exercise slowly, though, or he'll be sore again. I would like to start taking my walks again, maybe Magnum's rehab could be worked into our walks.
His chin bumps seem to be getting a little better. They don't seem as big and red as they were. I'll have to look into other supplements for him. I was looking at something at www.bluestuff.com. They have stuff for dogs and cats as well as people. Someone on the orthodogs list said she uses it and it does work. I figure it's, at least, worth looking into. |
