Hours passed as we exited the mountains and meandered throught lake and fruit growing country. Our examination of Okanagan Lake failedto turn up Ogo Pogo (or whatever his name is), Cananda's version of the Loch Ness monster.
Crossing the boarder at Osoyoos, we headed toward Lake Chelan. A difference of opinion arose regarding how far to go before securing accomodations for the night. While most civilized folk would have called it quits earlier, the wishes of the driver prevailed, and Steve took us to the very shores of Lake Chelan.
The hour was late, and we were tired. Finding no room at most inns, I began to fear we would find ourselves back on the road much sooner than expected. Once again, God was with us and we eventually acquired 2 fairly nice rooms at a high, but reduced rate. Thus Steve, Nathan and myself spent the night in a large room advertised throughout the resort as The Chart Room. Of equal billing was a room identified as The Schooner Room, which as luck would have it, was located immediately beside The Chart Room. The party in The Chart Room enjoyed soupy take-out pizza, while the party in The Schooner Room lasted all night.

While Dad thought Revelstoke would be a real highlight, the experience turned out to be less than satisfying. The Meadows in the Sky Parkway was closed due to snow just a few kilometers from the top, thus that attraction was scrapped. While the tour of the Revelstoke dam held promise, the view from the dam's observation tower was uninspiring and its inner workings failed to peek my interest. And so, about 12:00 noon, we were off, destination: the USA.
