Goebel Family


Generation 1

Friedrich Goebel, son of Philipp Goebel and Wilhelmine Knuettel, died before 1857.  He is presumed to have lived his entire life in Germany and was a blacksmith. He married Margaretha Knoblauch 26 May 1844 at Unterreichenbach, Germany. She was born in 1821 at Germany and died after 1906 probably in Clark Co., WA. She immigrated to the US c1874-1875, lived in Philadelphia and removed to Washougal, Clark Co., WA in 1876. For information on her parents see the Knoblauch Family.  They had the following children:

Generation 2

Margaret Goebel was born 26 February 1857 in house Number 5 at Hettersroth, Oberhessen, Hessen, Germany and died 1936 at Portland, Multnomah Co., OR. She was baptised 4 March 1857 at Hettersroth with the name Margaretha Knoblauch because she was illegitimate.  The date of her immigration to the US is unknown but she worked in the home of the Diston family of Philadelphia, PA with her sister Minnie. This sister and her husband brought Margaret to Washougal, Clark Co., WA with them in 1876. She married Martin Jacob Campen 17 December 1876 at Mt. Norway, Washougal, Clark Co., WA. He was born 15 January 1854 at Norden, Hannover Province, Prussia which is now Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen), Germany and died 2 February 1929 at Vancouver, Clark Co., WA.
