Chapter 3 : Wishes and Rain

Angel swiftly walks to the elevator and rides it up to the top floor. She gets out before heading to the roof. She picks a spot then lays down and looks up to watch the stars which sends her deep in thought. Gosh, what is going on? I mean all my life I have searched for the one. The one that will let me feel. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to feel. Justin and his friends are so lucky. His friends don't even realize how much good they could do. All those people that listen to them and call them their role models. They have a chance to do more good than I ever could. A loud thunderclap interrupts her thoughts. Okay so maybe not. Justin has been my best friend for, like, forever. Joey is nice. Kind of a womanizer though. Chris is funny. Always trying to make people laugh. Lance is a gentleman. Always trying to make people feel at home. Josh is, well, Josh is Josh. He is sweet and nice. And I can find myself able to talk to him about anything. I get this feeling that he is the one. But he couldn't be could he? I mean…
"Angel?" calls a soft familiar voice.

JC runs after her. He misses the elevator and takes the stairs with, unknown to him, Justin, Chris, Lance and Joey following him a few feet away. JC reasons that since Angel likes the stars, she'd most likely be on the roof. He heads to the roof and finds her laying down looking up.
"Angel?" he calls quietly.
"Yes?" She responds a few seconds later.
"What's wrong?" He sits down beside her.
"Nothing, just thinking."
"About what?"
"My life, or lack thereof."
"What do you mean? You have a life. You have your best friend, Justin that cares about you. You have the guys that care about you. I care about you."
"I know you guys do. It is just that I'm tired of not LIVING my life. I love being a Calling Angel, but I've never LIVED. Everything is just so drab to me." She says as she sits up and faces him. The other four watch in silence where JC and Angel can't see them.
"I wish I could help." He says standing up.
"Wait. Maybe you can." She says standing up.
"How?" He asks her questioningly.
"I know a hug always seemed to help Justin when he was feeling bad. Do you think you could try it on me?"
"Sure." He takes a step closer to her, decreasing the distance between them. Her heart begins to race as does his as he leans in to give her a hug. He hugs her and she starts to feel better. They stay in each other's arms for a few minutes, with her crying on his shoulder. They break apart and she puts a hand to her face to wipe away the tears. When she feels the tears, she gets scared. JC notices. "What's wrong?"
"I'm crying, I think."
"Yeah you are. Why is that a problem?" he asks worried.
"I've never cried before."
"Never?"
"Never."
"So why are you now?"
"Don't know. I never did before not even when I was near Justin. It seems like you are doing this to me."
"That is kind of creepy."
"I agree." They both look up. A shooting star shoots across the sky.
"Make a wish." I wish he would kiss me. I wish she would kiss me. They think at the exact same time. "So what did you wish for?"
"Well if I tell you, it won't come true. What about you?"
"If I tell you, it won't come true." He says laughing. He looks up and his eyes lock with hers. He stops laughing. Once again he closes the distance between them. He wraps his arms around her waist and she wraps her arms around his neck. As he leans in to kiss her it starts raining.
"What a way to ruin a moment" remarks Angel as the rain fall increases.
"Why ruin it?" He smirks, then leans in and kisses her. She deepens the kiss. She breaks it off, but is reluctant to stop. "You know, that is exactly what I wished for."
"Really? Me too. Wierd" She initiates another kiss and they keep it going. They break it off when she starts to glow an eerie blue.
"What's going on?" Asks JC worried when he starts glowing as well.
"The legend." She whispers.
"What?"
"The legend. You're 'the one'."
"Okay that explains why you're glowing but why am I?"
"I don't know." They quit glowing. The cold rain sends chills up and down Angel's body. "I'm cold." She says quietly.
"Huh?"
"I think I'm cold." She says excitedly. "I'm cold!" She yells while spinning around in one spot with her arms out.
"You're happy about this aren't you?" JC says grinning and grabbing her in his arms.
"Very."
"Well we'd better get back to the room before we catch a cold, get the flu, or hypothermia."
"I guess so. So what does a hot shower feel like?"
"When you're cold, very good."
"Hmm, that sounds like a plan." She says grinning before giving him a quick kiss. They head back to the room hand in hand until they hear a crash, an 'ow', a punch, and another 'ow'. "What was that?"
"I think I know. Guys get your happy butts out here." They hear a few scraping noises then Joey, Justin, Chris, and Lance come out from their spying place. "Why were you spying?" he asks looking at Justin.
"We just wanted to make sure that Angel was okay. Besides they made me." Says Lance pointing at his 'brothers'.
"Traitor." Says Justin under his breath.
"I heard that." Says JC.
"Sorry."
"Come on guys, let's get out of this rain." They agree and head back down to their rooms.

"This is good. This is so good! I can't believed I missed out on stuff like this." Exclaims Angel while she and the guys sit around the table eating ice cream.
"Okay, whoa. Slow down. Don't want to get sick." Says JC.
"Kay, I'm done. That was fun. Are you guys off tomorrow?"
"Yeah. We are. Aren't you also?" asks Justin.
"Yup.We have got to do something."
"Like what?"
"Surprise me?"
"We can do that. Where are the cats?" Angel points to the couch and the cats are sleeping under it. "Oh, okay. Night Angel."
"Night Justin." He heads off to his room.
"Night Angel." Says the rest of the guys.
"Night Guys. Are you coming to bed also, JC? Or do you want me to go ahead?"
"I'll go ahead and go to bed. I'm tired. Night guys."
"Night JC." Angel and JC go to his room and get into their respective beds.
"Night Angel."
"Night JC." They say before they slip into a deep sleep.
****The Next Morning****
"Morning Angel." Says JC sleepily as he gets up. He turns on the light, but it flickers then sparks before going out. Wierd. He looks around the room and notices Angel isn't there. Okay, so she is in the middle room. He goes out to the middle room. "Angel?" he calls. "Hey guys, where's Angel?" JC asks his friends worriedly. They all look towards him.
"JC, I thought she was in there with you. She's not?" Asks Justin as the rest of the guys go back to what they were doing.
"No, She isn't in her bed. She isn't in the shower. She isn't in here. Do you think she left? She could have left out the door, but wouldn't she have least left a note saying where she was going?"
"Maybe the Council called her."
"The Council?"
"Yeah, the big guys. They are the ones that give angels assignments, give them promotions or demotions, you name it. Maybe they called her to them."
"Would that be bad or good?"
"Depends on why they called her."
"Alright I just hope she's okay."
"JC, I know Angel fairly well. She'll be fine. I know you really like her, but I know her and she'll be fine."
"Justin, I don't like her."
"What do you mean? I thought you guys were getting along fine."
"I love her, Justin. From the first time I saw her I felt something and last night just proved it."
"What happened last night? We could only see you two talking, then you two glowed and talked some more."
"Well it's a long story."
"Well I've got the time." Says Justin before JC starts telling the events of the previous night. "Wow." Says Justin when JC finishes telling the story.
"Yeah."
"Well, I'm sure she's fine."
"I hope so, I'm not sure what would happen if she never came back."
