dear damon
April 2002
Time is just zooming by, you know this feeling, right, d? It's almost month's end, and here I am updating this letter for April. Just as I was wondering how I could lay my hands on some of those pictures of your time in Mali, Britart says that they can be had for mere pennies per photo. All kidding aside, they are an arm and a leg each, and my offer was courteously rejected...lol...pre 9/11, I would have happily forked over the dinero, but now? I meditate upon the pros and cons, feasibility and impossibility of adorning new abode's pristine white walls with you and your buddies mugs.
Oxfam does great work all over the globe, and are truly deserving of the proceeds from the sales of those most photojournalistic works of art. I remember, with great nostalgia, the dinners I used to give up for a night at the campus cafeteria to aid Oxfam. That felt good, even though, at times, my stomach would growl in protest. So I sit here and continue to ponder what can be done...
pensively yours,
frances
