dear damon
September 2003
Wowee! Where does time fly? Been vegging out too much in Martha Stewart Country this past month and have not been able to update for August, sadly. Hopefully back on a regular monthly schedule from this point forward. Your collective heads must have been spinning the past few months as you flew across international date lines and domestic timelines. Otsukaresama! as they say in Japan. Speaking of which your appearances at the Summersonic Fes there was a blast, I have read and heard. You even spoke some Japanese?! *impressed*
Thank you so very much for treating us all to your music, live. Thank you, also, for blowing the kiss at the Big Apple gig. Though it was, no doubt, to all those gathered there that night (including the Thin White Duck himself), it was a special moment. You almost came in for a handshake, but stopped short of our corner, stage left, first row standing room.
I conked out the day of your Boston gig, and missed your gig, but made my way to D.C. on the day of the 9:30 gig and went with my forever young-at-heart mother and artsy kid brother. We were up on the right hand side balcony, in the front, perfectly within your 45 degree field of vision. I was happy you all noticed, but especially elated when I noticed you going through your memory bank as you saw me. Cheers!
Blissfully,
frances
