October 2004
Okay. The day started out rather interesting as I did a quick inspection of the tires on my ride, Grapey, and discovered that the front passenger side tire valve cap was missing, or rather, taken off. Big whoop, you know? Kind of got me down for a moment when I thought about how daft people can be sometimes. Luckily a short drive to the neighborhood petrol station and Grapey was set to roll, big time. I dunno if it's the purple color, the CA plates, the perception that one's "parking spot" was taken (btw, there are no pre-assigned spots where I live) or the "fueled by Jamba Juice" plate cover, but someone had it in for Grapey this morn. Total bollocks. Keep riding that bike, d, much better idea all-in-all.
Watched the bonus concert footage on the "Starshaped" DVD this weekend and was amazed at how out of it you were in that 1990 gig at Leicester's Princess Charlotte. It tooks a lot of chutzpah for you to select that gig and I applaud you for that. Am also happy when I think about what great gigs you put on and how with the passage of time, you only get better. Thanks for giving us one of the best gigs we will ever experience.
Looks like you had a fab time at the Tony Allen show. Wished I could have been there. Will be in London next month for a brief holiday with Mum and would be elated if I bump into you again then. :) Hard work awaits until then. Take good care of you and yours this influenza season, d.
Best Wishes,
frances
