dear damon

July 2008

Dang it and all that kind of jazz, d. Hope this month is finding you in good spirits as you get ready for round two and three of your Honest Jon's gigs in Lyon and the Big Apple. Please kindly take care of my orphaned ticket at Lyon as plans have changed and will not be there. Will be at the Lincoln Center event, though. It's rather confusing as to whether the performance will be at the Avery Fisher Hall as I'm unsure whether the renovations have been completed or not, but it will be an extra sentimental treat as I performed Beethoven's lost works there back in the day. ;) (swear to God and I'll sing it to you if you care to listen).

I heard about Honest Jon's collective Chop Up at the Barbican yesterday. Sounds like everyone was more than up for it. Cheers for your part in bringing good music to more peoples' ears. I am so looking forward to hearing everyone live and hearing Toumani Diabaté's Kora. There's nothing like hearing something live. You understand.

Oh...btw, that dang it was about how a dump lorry load of lemons has been dumped into your's truly's life. I am squeezing them and making lemonade as fast as I can. A shout out to my kid brother for stepping up and squeezing them alongside me. A great, big, thank you to you and your friends for music that keeps me from faltering even when times are tough. *hugs* See you on the 12th!

Gratefully,
frances

P.S. Still owe you a review for Monkey and another one for the upcoming gig. Will try my best amidst the lemonade-making to whip them up, as well.
