dear damon
November 2008
Hope this letter finds you well and happy, d. Am leaving for the airport in less than two hours and am so elated about flying to London for Drifting and Tilting: The Songs of Scott Walker at the Barbican. Will be there all three nights from November 13th through the 15th and am also looking forward to "Scott Walker - 30 Century Man" * the Q&A with the director before the show on the 15th. Might also catch Monkey: Journey to the West again at the O2 on the 12th or 16th. There may be some additional touches to the production, yes? I really enjoyed your interview on World Cafe recently. It was an additional bonus to listen to as it's one of my fave programs on npr.
Have been frightfully busy the past two months which made it not possible to update this site. Am feeling pretty groovy now that I'm back. I am so excited about your participation in the Scott Walker show. I am guessing which songs you might play and sing and will probably get goose bumps if my guesses turn out to be correct. ;) I really like Scott Walker's voice (not as much as your's, though) and his dark songs. For me, he's the Salinger of the songwriting world. Have a ball, d!
November is a great time to visit what with the fogginess and the chilliness there. A perfect mini-holiday it shall be. Much walking around, people-watching, taking photographs, listening to music, writing and drinking tea. Will be in row K the first two nights and trying to get a better seat on the final night as my current ticket is in the nose-bleed section. Bring it on! :)
Can hardly wait,
frances
P.S. Barack won! Yay! Hopefully this is the dawning of a better future.
