dear damon
December 2008
Season's Greetings, d! Hope you're chillin' out and enjoying some much deserved r-n-r time right about now. It was great to be able to see you perform at Drifting and Tilting - The Songs of Scott Walker from November 13th through the 15th at the Barbican Centre. I loved your rendition of "Farmer in the City (Remembering Pasolini)." I dunno what it was, but I was moved to tears each night I heard you sing that song. Loved how you wore Wellies. Very apropos footwear selection. ;) A new friend I made at the performance who is a great fan of Scott's music said he loved your performance because you sung it in your own style. Hurrah for remaining ever the original. I came away with a feeling that you played an instrumental role in making the three-night performance possible. For that, I thank you, as well. I thought I spotted g after the final night's performance at the Fountain Bar? Did he tell you he saw me there? I hung around until a quarter before midnight and had to leave before the Tube closed for the night.
You know this December marks the 10th Anniversary of "tea with damon?" Never did I imagine this site would still be in existence for so long. It started out as a wish and is now an indispensable part of my life. This month brings joyful news of the blur reunion, as well. It's all good. A great big thank you and mucho well-wishes to graham, dave, alex and you for making this happen. May you all be blessed with infinite love and wisdom.
love,
frances
