dear damon

October 1999

It seems to be raining over there in London now, hope you're staying drier than when you were performing at the Electric Ballroom. The gig was phenomenal! I thought the Alley Cat gig last summer was a veritable sauna, but in comparison to that overwhelming heat in the Electric Ballroom, it was nothing! I really felt for you when you sat down in the middle of the stage floor and declared, "but it's SO hot!" You, Graham, Alex and Dave knew, though, that we were all in it together, so you hung in there, didn't abandon ship, and gave us all a fantastic gig that we won't ever forget! Way to go!

Is it just my imagination or did you recognize me three songs into the set list? Aack! I really needed a cooling down two persons in from the front, between you and Graham, and you did throw much H2O at us which was greatly appreciated by most (though maybe not so much by the looker next to me who kept worrying about her mussed up hair...) Thanks for not only treating us to a great show, but coming to our rescue...how galant!

I was tickled pink that you told off those jerks who kept screaming for "Song 2" and the like. Standing up for your convictions time and again, you da man, damon! Though I only had 24 hours to spend in London after all, it was the most action-packed, fulfilling, and blissful 24 hours that I had spent in a long time. Carpe Diem, don'tcha think?

Smilingly yours,

frances
