dear damon
August 2000
August already? Is it just me, or do you feel that time is flying by at the speed of light? So you have decided not to go into recording for your next album, which seems like a wise choice, d. You all seem to be going about your musical activities in a busy and creative manner, so all the best to you all!
I have been learning how to play the guitar and am having the time of my life! Am already playing some blur songs, though I've got an electric, am playing slow ballad type songs..."The Universal,""End of A Century,""To the End," for starters...am now finally getting to see how your music works from the "inside," and am finding myself falling in love with blur's music all over again! I found a teacher who's probably 10 years younger than I am and who's into retro-blues nowadays to teach me...the first song he taught me was, for some reason, America's "A Horse With No Name," that just so happens to be one of my fave groups from the 70s...So dunno where I'm headed, d, just that I wanna play guitar and that I finally am, and that I've given myself 3 years to learn how to get her to croon like a country sad ballad girl. So wish me much luck, and you know, I'll always be doing the same for you!
Ciao baby,
frances
