"I'm the only one who likes David Bowie in the band."
-damon (from the June/July 1997 issue of Raygun)
Many blur fans, sooner or later catch the Bowie bug. Out of all the glam era icons, David Bowie has oulasted most of them and continues to be relevant and active to this day. He has transformed himself time and again, by creating incarnations of himself both as David Bowie and as an artist. His exploration of space, through his Ziggy Stardust persona and songs such as "Starman," "Space Oddity," and "Ziggy Stardust," among others, has influenced many musicians that would later follow in his footsteps, including damon. Bowie is one of the artist-of- all-trades in that he is a musician, a painter, a sculptor, an actor, and a writer. His thirst for further knowledge and everlasting sense of curiosity are what make him David Bowie, artiste extraordinaire!

This is where the big cheese resides.
The man is an artiste!
The legend put through the Freudian wringer!
David Bowie has starred in some controversial films such as
"The Man Who Fell To Earth," "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, "
and "Basquiat," to name a few. His portrayal of Andy Warhol is
apparently uncanny (thanks, Masaaki!) in "Basquiat." I've always
wanted to see damon follow in his footsteps in the acting realm
and was ecstatic to see damon in "Face." damon has recently said
that he wouldn't be acting again in a film anytime soon. What a
shame! damon, you're made for the silver screen as much as for the
world of music. Please indulge us, and show your face again on the
big screen. We'll be waiting with bated breath!
