The Dancestar 2000 Awards

The Dancestar 2000 Awards took place at London's Alexandra Palace. With a total of 21 categories covering genres from breakbeat to trance, house and garage, the award ceremony feature live performances from Chicane, Moby, Alice Deejay, DJ Luc & MC Neat, Artful Dodger feat Romina Johnson and ATB.

The stage firstly  braved by Chicane with his trusty side-kick Bryan Adams. Bryan's microphone is switched off for the first three lines of 'Don't Give Up'. Everything is sounding very "live".

Lightening  the tone, ATB (or is it Tong? or Oakey?) picks up Best Dance Single with some confused pidgin-English.
Peoples' choice Best Radio DJ (no surprise here then) , The Judge Jules.
The award for raunchiest stage-show goes hands-down to Alice Deejay and their betrench-coated dance troupe who whipped off their coats mid-tune to reveal nothing but bras and great big white pants.
Moby is nowhere to be seen as his name is announced and it's only after much neck-craning and giggling from the audience that he comes sprinting in from the direction of the little boys room. Bless him. And his coffee-table album.
