George was living with Conrad when he received his war pension; he was called "old Hans George" by the family. Sarah Lemon Phillips (oldest child of Fredrick and Mary) said that her uncles George and Jacob were stationed at Friend's Fort, Randolph County, VA(WV) during the Revolutionary War and later told the family about the Tygart Valley. Conrad Lemon and his nephews, George S. Lemon and Jacob Lemon served in the War of 1812.
