Kouru Hirashu

Genbu Shichiseishi Namame

Namame by Amber

Name: Kouru Hirashu

Seishi name: Namame

Seishi symbol & location: "mind" on abdomen over the left leg

Age: 20

Birthday: January 3

Astrological Sign: Capricorn

Physical Description: Pale, porcelain white skin contrasts with every feature; dark ebony hair is pulled back at the nape of his neck to fall just below his waist, and almond-shaped eyes of vivid, gold-flecked brown are his most striking feature. He has the look of a man who rarely sets foot outside in the sunshine and weather, but it hardly detracts from his appearance. Soft black robes and boots of velvety leather drape over his frame, and a red, knotted sash symbolizes his occupation as a scholar.

Height: 185 cm (about 6'1")

Weight: 72 kg (158.7 lbs)

Blood type: A

Birthplace: Ara, Central Hokkan

Occupation: Advisor/emmissary/mediator

Family and Friends: Father, mother, younger sister. 'Friend' seems to be a foreign word to him.

Seishi Ability: Logic, perception, empathy, and memory (or perhaps "mind" is a quicker description) are his given talents; though they are subtle, they are more useful than they seem. Just as he can hear truth and falsehood in people's voices, Namame can also discern paths and directions to aid in travel, and sense traps laid in his (or Genbu no miko's) path. He is not fooled by illusion, and by nature his mind cannot set traps for him. This makes him an extremely skilled advisor and diplomat, and an excellent guide.

His talents do not extend very far into the physical; although his power as a Genbu seishi enhances his strength and endurance, his only combat skill is that of self-defense. Namame can create a barrier about his body with his chi, though its protection will only extend so far. It is by no means invinsible, and the level of concentration (or desperation) it requires excludes all other actions.

Skills and Abilities: Namame is a researcher and teacher of the highest order, although he rarely uses his knowledge for anything or anyone other than the advancement of his own intellect. His negotiation skills - earned through years of hard experience - are top notch, although he has been known to fail now and again without any explanation.

Other skills include a passing acquaintance with martial arts, and a more advanced mastery of the sword. As his interest is more intellectual than physical, his practice of these skills does not always match his knowledge of technique. (Don't underestimate him...)

Personality: Cool, calm, and collected (corporate!). Namame never raises his voice, preferring sweet reason to argument - he is a great believer in the saying "A man will heed a whisper where he will ignore a shout." It takes quite a bit to wear out his patience, yet even in anger, he is ice cold and serious, rather than loud or impulsive. He has a healthy disdain of opportunists and most of the high nobility, but he isn't all that fond of the peasant rabble, either. Because of his general dislike of others, any respect one earns from him should be regarded as an achivement of high order.

History: Namame's life revolves around his father's whims, much as he hates it. He belongs to a merchant family, and although he lives a rather luxurious life, he despises the uses to which his father puts the family fortune. Money is the only god his family worships, and quite aside from disgusting him, it also draws Namame further from his given home. He feels drawn toward more avid worship of Genbu instead, in a way he cannot explain.

Yet... he remains home (it wouldn't be logical to leave when he can't support himself), working as a mediator during meetings with his father, and an emissary when it is deemed necessary; his diplomatic skills have flourished in this environment, and he could likely match any nobleman or councillor in the political forum. But regardless... Namame searches, always, for a way to escape his miserable existence...
