The
good news is that NPED uses the same
database as PED.
After completing the installation of
NPED
- Backup the PED databases.
- Delete the default database in NPED
- Copy the database from the old PED
into NPED
- Change the path on startup to
point to NPED
Backup the PED
databases.
Make a copy of the database files to prevent a disaster.
My choice would be to copy the files ( Ped_db.db
& Ped_db.idx ) to a floppy.
Delete the
default database in NPED
Position yourself in the NPED folder and delete the database files (
Ped_db.db & Ped_db.idx )
Check that nped.exe is in the folder where you are deleting.
Copy the
database from the old ped into NPED
Move to the folder with the old PED program. C:\PED was the default.
Mark and copy the 2 database files
Move to the NPED folder where you just installed NPED (C:\NPED by
default) and paste the database files into it.
Change the path
on startup to point to NPED
When you Attempt to start NPED you will receive a action list rather
than a open data base. Move to change the Path and Enter.
The old data base path will appear pointing to the old PED folder.
Enter the location where you have installed NPED and Press ESC
The application should now being successfully running.
