The quick answer is, no more
enhancements are planned.
NPED is founded on 20 year old technology. At that time I had
a computer with a 20 Megabyte Disk drive and DOS. I consider the design
at that time to be a success as my data base has 340 birds in a 100K
data base. The technology used to write the program for
a 16 bit computer and will not support the programs technologies
which would allow be to include things like imbedded COI
computations. I have no plans for the expansion of the freeware
pedigree
programs. In NPED I did provide
textdump.exe which provides a file of basic
animal information. This file could be used by other software
vendors to load their data bases.
The reports and data files in NPED are the same ones used in
PED. There have been no reported bugs in either the database,
screens, or reports in PED. If bugs are found in NPED put an
entry in my guest book, on my home page, describing the problem and
include your e-mail address. I use this program for my birds and
all bugs will be addressed.
