D of the 5th Infantry Regiment of the State of Florida to serve in the Civil War. He served until the end of the War when he surrendered at Appomattox, Virginia on 9 April 1865.
His headstone, of white marble, was probably erected later by a veteran's group. It has no dates, only "Co. D - 5 Fla. Inf. CSA."
