These words were popularized by
John Greenleaf Whittier, in 1863,
when he wrote the poem "Barbara Fritchie."

12th largest city in the U.S.A.
It ranks 5th among the United States Ports.

The people of Baltimore take great pride in their city.
Influenced by the talent of Edgar Allen Poe,
H.L. Menken, James Hubert "Eubie" Blake and
Billie Holiday, Baltimore continues to grow.

Baltimore's Inner Harbor is one of
America's oldest seaports.Since the 1600's
Baltimore Harbor has been welcoming people,
ships and goods from all over the world.

Beginning in 1933, this lightship marked
the entrance to the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays

The Taney is the last warship afloat
that survived the December 7, 1941
attack on Pearl Harbor.

The WWII Submarine Torsk.

The Torsk patrolled the Pacific
during World War II.

The Pride of Baltimore!

Seven-foot Knoll Lighthouse.

A National Landmark.
Built in 1856, this is the oldest
"screw pile" in Maryland.
