Xena Scroll Writer (Xena Scroll Writer)
Please Sir or Madam will you read her scrolls
They took her years to write, but she's on a roll
They're based on the legend of the great Xena
Written by a bard named Gabrielle, the Xena Scroll Writer
Xena Scroll Writer
It's the story of a princess warrior
And her sidekick Gabby knows what she's there for
There's also Joxer, but he has no clue
Whatcha writin' Gab? She'll tell ya who. That Xena Scroll Writer
Xena Scroll Writer
Xena Scroll Writer
They're a hundred scrolls give or take a few
She'll be writing more in a week or two
She might change the world with her writing style
All in a day's work for Gabrielle, the Xena Scroll Writer
Xena Scroll Writer
If you really like them you can have the rights
Make a hit TV show for you overnight
Battles, humor, romance, how can you go wrong?
So a great tale it inspired this song, Xena Scroll Writer
Xena Scroll Writer
Xena Scroll Writer
Xena Scroll Writer
Xena Scroll Writer
Xena Scroll Writer
Xena Scroll Writer
[fade out]
In true form of a classic rock n' roll song, there are quite a few things in this parody that you can "read into". Just in case you didn't catch them all, here's a list:
"They're a hundred scrolls give or take a few"
At the time I wrote this (4/22/99), there were 86 episodes... 100 episodes, give or take a few. One scroll per episode.
"She'll be writing more in a week or two"
As of April 22, 1999, there were 4 more episodes to air of the 4th season.
"She might change the world with her writing style"
A reference to the episode, THE QUILL IS MIGHTIER.
The last verse is partly in homage to the great Joxer descendant who "originally" pitched the show to executive producer, Rob Tapert, in the episode, THE XENA SCROLLS.
