How GK Does An Oekaki (coming to a theatre near you)

I'm cutting right to the chase on this one. If using a newer version of oekaki, I start the default solid 1pt black line on the top layer although I don't use layers much myself as my faithful mask option is still implemented. (see the tool explanations here.)

A little smile and pout...

There are many ways to color using oekaki and it can be hard to decide which is best! So, I'm going to start with solids--people seem to find them easier. First thing I do is click 'normal' to activate 'mask' so that i can be carefree and color underneath the black lineart (no layers required). It's time to make a color and adjust the bars. Squeezing another topic in, I want to advise again that each color should be done with at least 3 values: highlight, base, and shade(s). Remember, you can duplicate a color by selecting it and right clicking a square on the pallette.

Next I'm going to do the hair applying the same multiple-values concept. This time I need to be more careful to color in the lines. Using mostly A190 tones for the hair and shirt collar, I get the following results.
