We left for this 5 day break on Tuesday the 23rd, an overnight train ride to ChiangMai. All hands passed out around 10:00pm, so on my lonesome headed back to my train car to do the same.
12 Belgians blocked my way. I was headed back with a big bottle of Singa Beer in my hand so there was no getting by these lads and lasses. Luckily they spoke some English and all were fluent in French, so I had no trouble getting into more trouble with them until we were all politely asked to 'shut-up' by the train people... The guy on the right is Stephen, cool guy.

This little girl and her mother were also on the train close to us. The little girl has a severe hearing problem so we communicated through "drawings". I drew her a flower and she flipped out. She's a little camera shy, but i'm a little more persistent than most photographers... :)

This is breakfast at the "Crazy Hut Bar" !! (Pete you should appreciate this - Crazy Matt, having breakfast at the 'Crazy Hut Bar'). Anyway, this is ChiangMai the morning after the hell train ride. The lady behind the table is the proprietor and cook, and wife of the van driver (below). She brews a dandee instant cup of coffee lemme tell ya. ha.
Sitting around the table is the lovely Lauren Butler (extremely rotted at me for putting this picture on the WWW by the way), the beautiful Catherine Evans and my partner in crime the 'Big T' Tony Evans. Adam (Butler) went for a walk and never showed up for 30 minutes so his loss.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONY!

(believe it or not these juniors are as comfy as anyting me son. :))

This is our driver, nicest man you'd ever meet. (apparently no one told him the war's over). While we ate at the Crazy Hut, we mentioned to the cook (the lady above) that we were heading into ChiangRai the next day, so she introduced us to her husband, the man i'm standing with, and he set us up with a drive to ChiangRai for the next day! Cheap too. They were super nice. We introduced ourselves and he said his name (nickname) is: Adam! So we'll never forget this guy cause we also had an Adam in our group.

On the way to ChiangRai in Adam's van, he stopped us off at a little tourist spot (huge roadside market), behind which was an Ostrich farm, and this natural 'Hot Spring'. Here you see a woman boiling eggs in this hot spring... burnt.
