This is the "Golden Triangle". At this crossroad (or "cross-rivers" to be more specific), alot of illegal opium trading went on for many many years. If the traders got accosted by authorities, they had two other countries they could flee to. This is a border of 3 countries. Thailand, Myanmar (formerly Burma), and Laos.

Myanmar top left, Laos top right, and i'm standing in Thailand.

  Touching 3 countries.

Then we drove another 20-30 minutes north, and reached the Northernmost point in Thailand. Sweeeet...

Our last stop in Northern Thailand led us up a tall mountain winding road to the King's Mother's Garden. These pictures lend NO justice to how beautiful this garden is, nor how huge it is. This garden won "most beautiful garden in Thailand" the last five years. Cate and Tony are walking ahead.

Canada flag is five or six flags to the right of the Australian flag.
