RPG Maker 2003, aka RM2K3, is a game making program written by ASCII that is extremely easy to use and very flexible. It's one of the most popular programs on the internet, which means that you will see many more games made with RM2K3 than any other game maker.

However, RM2K3 has some drawbacks. For example, at the beginning of every time you open your game file, made by ASCII and other companies messages will appear. Also, RM2K3's graphical resolution is very small. However, it is still a truly awesome game maker as you can create vivid and beautiful games without a single line of code.

RM2K3 is the perfect maker to start out with. You'll be able to make good but basic games, and you'll learn the basics of game developing. However, for more experienced game makers, the RPG Toolkit or Game Maker may be better choices, since they are more complex and versatile, and RM2K3 is technically illegal. I will soon have it uploaded on my own server. I haven't already, since it's over 30MB.
