Melva Bell

My name is Melva Olivia Bell and I am a native of East Point, GA but currently I reside in Riverdale, GA. I am the only daughter to the proud Dr. Florence J. Bell who is also a "gamma gamma" girl. As a May 20, 2001, I also graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Media Arts. I am currently the Media Specialist for Grady Health System in the Corporate Communications Division. My future aspirations include becoming a General Assignment Reporter for television. During my senior year at Morris Brown, I interned at Fox 5 Atlanta News. While at Fox 5, I covered major stories, edited news packages, and assisted in the production of several Good Day Atlanta Morning Show Segments. I was also a reporter, anchor, and producer for both Clark Atlanta TV and Morris Brown TV. Becoming 1st Attendant Miss Morris Brown College 2000-2001 was a great honor.


Monica Dukes

Monica Dukes crossed in the Fall of 1997 with the 12 Pink Petals of Pure Perfection. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Morris Brown College's class of 2000. She received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Monica formerly served Gamma Gamma Chapter in the capacity of historian, corresponding secretary, and basileus. She currently works for the Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census, Foreign Trade Division in the Washington, DC area. She also plans to pursue a MBA degree. Monica is still an active member and will continue to work hard for AKA.

LaShawnda Lindsay

Soror LaShawnda Lindsay, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, currently resides in the greater Washington, DC area. During her undergraduate years at Morris Brown, Soror LaShawnda has accomplished many great tasks. Upon her completion of her bachelor’s degree in Psychology in May 2001, she traveled to Cape Town, South Africa where she worked research assistant on HIV/AIDS prison study. Currently Soror LaShawnda is pursuing a master’s degree in Educational Psychology at Howard University. After completing her master’s at Howard, she places to forge ahead and began working towards her doctoral degree in Educational Psychology. Soror LaShawnda’s longterm goal is to charter an African centered school that appropriately meets the needs of all African American students. In addition, she plans to become an expert in the education of African Americas. Her favorite motto is the “When you reach the end of a lighted path, and about to step into the darkness, faith is knowing that one of two things will happen in the darkness: (1) there will be something solid for you to stand on or (2) you will be taught how to fly.”


Yongkesha McCullum

Yongkesha is the Ace of the 18 Illustrious Ivies of Evolution, which crossed in spring 1999. She received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Kesha served as Financial Secretary and Treasurer of Gamma Gamma. Kesha is currently an Active member and will always be. She is currently the co-chair for AKA for MBC, and works for a law firm in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her motto is "Through GOD All Things are Possible.

Kenyatta Phillips

Kenyatta Denise Phillips is a native of Clover, South Carolina and currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio. Kenyatta is pursuing her Masters in Social Work at Case Western Reserve University. She graduated in 2001 from dear ole' Morris Brown with a BS in psychology. Kenyatta had the wonderful opportunity of becoming a Gorgeous Gamma Gamma Girl in the spring of 1999, she was the 5th of 18 Illustrious Ivies of Evolution. While being a Gamma Gamma Girl, Kenyatta served as corresponding secretary and president. Although the undergraduate experience was wonderful, Kenyatta has moved on to higher aspirations. She is a member of the "first" graduate chapter, the Awesome Alpha Omega Chapter. Kenyatta aspires to one day become the National President for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and she believes that by trusting in the Lord with all thine heart, all things are possible.

Angela Williams

Angela served as Gamma Gamma's Secretary and Ivy Leaf Reporter. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. She is attending graduate school at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, GA and will receive a Master of Science in Information Technology. Angela proudly works for the State of Georgia with the Department of Public Health's Immunization Program. She is a member of Pi Alpha Omega chapter now and continues to be an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha.
