Type of Structure: Gothic-Revival Church.

Year(s) of Construction: May have been built around 1824 (but I doubt it). Was built BEFORE 1876.

Builder: .

Gargoyle carver(s): .

Location: Located in the middle of Univerity City (University of PA) near where 39th street crosses Locust Walk (Locust Street become a Walk as it enters the UoP campus).

Website: St. Mary's Episcopal Church of Hamilton Village

Interesting Features: The four unfinished gargoyles. The very large, short belltower. Tiffany/Lafarge stained-glass windows.

Personal Observations: St. Marys' is a tiny church with a relatively LARGE bell tower. From looking at it it seams as though the tower wasn't built as tall as it was planned for. The four gargoyles (one of which isseen below) were never completed.

The two images above were photographs captured by me and them manipulated in photoshop. I replaced the greyish-white cloudy sky with a blue partly cloudy sky. I autoleveled the gargoyle.
