History of the New Philly Caern

Veiw the Caern's Map

The Sept of Sojourn Might is home to a very old and very powerful caern. Many things about this site have changed over the centuries, and few things are clear about its history. Regardless, several members of the sept have taken it upon themselves to discover some of this lost history so that they might better understand those who have come before....

Many moons ago, the caern was created by three packs that were members of the Pure Tribes. These noble Wendigo, Croatan, and Uktena wanted an area far from their homes, one that would be a welcome home to others that might be forced to journey this far south. The Rite was performed sometime around 1000 B.C., though no one is certain of a date.
The caern is located in a spot of woodline behind the facilities of AUM, which is located off the Atlanta Highway and Taylor Road. The bawn covers an unknown area of land, as the caern's boundaries are blurred due to the very low Gauntlet of the immediate area. Some think that the penumbra slips into the real world, distorting distance, time, and boundaries...

The Lore outlined below was recovered from various sources by Janus Greggoran and Soulhowler in August of 2004.

In January 2007, the Caren fell to a Massive BSD attack headed by the Fallen Uktena know as Wapasha. The survivors have taken refuge at the Sept of the Shreaded tent. The Caren Was rebuilt, with help from many of the caren's allies. Renamed the Sept of the Endless Knot, a new day dawns for the Garou of New Philly.

#1 the dens
#2 graves and markers
#3 visitor sleeping area
#4 assembly area
#5 "the dead zone"

Blue Numbers
1 - Wyvern's Heart (gnosis)
2 - Murry's Heart (stealth)
3 - Stag's Heart (gnosis)

Shrines are notaded by blue squares: West of Stag's Heart is a shrine dedicated to Gaia herself. Northeast of Stag's Heart is a shrine dedicated to the South Wind.

To read the map: foliage is a constant. The legend of the map details semi-passable areas. The darker the patterns, the more impassible an area.

North is represented by the top edge of the map.

The Bawn is the thin black line that at times is not visable due to the "foliage"

The yellow line represents a rough dirt track that has been neglected for quite some time. The north-most edge of it (towards the center) has a large "deuce and a half" Army transport truck parked there. The south-most edge of the path curves around and comes out at I-85 (though it is completely impossible to see this path from the interstate. This path has been deemed by Ulrich and Janus to be the "back door".

The Dead Zone is a large dead oak tree right at the creekside. It is an area that spirits have been avoiding... This is also roughly the location the Anchorhead to the "Wyld World" opened at.

The traps consist of tangle wires, punji pits, stake slings, and general noise makers. Only Guardians know their exact locations.

The dens are given a certain order: higher ranks sleep out towards the edge with the cubs and the Den Mother sleeping towards the center. The Dens can sleep roughly 30 Lupus Garou comfortably.

The visitor sleeping and rest area can sleep up to 30 lupus as well.

The centermost Heart is Off-Limits to all Garou not holding positions within the sept. Anyone found here answers to Janus.

All Moon Bridges are opened at the Heart within the Assembly Area (Theurges note it is the "Stealth" Heart)
