William T. Nicholson, Captain Co. E

William T. Nicholson was a resident of Halifax Co., NC and enlisted on 20 Nov 1861 as a 1st Lieutenant.  He was 21 years old.  He was commissioned into Field & Staff on 20 Nov 1861.

He was listed as wounded from a gunshot wound to the shoulder in May 1864 and hospitalized on 23 May 1864 in Richmond, VA.  He returned to service on 15 Feb 1865.  He was killed 2 Apr 1865 at Five Forks, VA.

Promotions: Captain - 1 Dec 1862.

Intra Regimental Company Transfers:  1 Dec 1862 from Field & Staff to company E.
