Herbert D. Stowe, 1st Lieutenant, Assistant Commissary of Subsistence

Herbert DeLambert Stowe of Gaston County was appointed assistant commissary of subsistence of the 37th Regiment NC Troops with the rank of 1st Lieutenant on 20 November 1861. Stowe resigned on 22 July 1862 because of "inflammatory rheumatism which renders it impossible for me to transact any business...."

Promotions: Captain on 13 March 1862
