Gastropod has not always been. It has
also not always gone by the name of Gastropod. Way back
when.... The first release from Gastropod was under the name Buford Pusser. This album was called the "Buford Pusser 9-Song Demo." It featured songs like "Near and Far," "Pounding in My Head" and a 4-Track recording of "Nose-Picking Girl." This release is so obscure that Bruno Hughes, the only member of the band at that time, forgot it even existed until it was presented to him by the webmaster of this site. Then, in August 1998, Gatsropod's first full-fledged album was made available to the world. "Preserved Specimens" was the first release to feature the name "Gastropod." After a couple albums, an EP was released under the name "Broken Boy." The reasons for the temporary name change is unclear, but it didn't last, and the songs that appeared on that disc showed up later on the Gastropod CD, "Hasslehoff." Brennan did a solo show in 2001 under the name Marcus Barth, and released a EP for that show under that name. He's since gone back to Gastropod. Since then, there have been no other name changes. |
