Meowth can drive a vehicle, swim, make dirt sculptures of himself in holes("Plant It Now... Diglett Later"),make ice sculptures, build robots; operate robots, gadgets, machienes, and a hot air baloon; hangglide, sing well, play a guitar or fiddle, run as fast as a human (if not faster); walk, talk and read like a human; use a shovel, a wistle, a broom, a net, and many remote controls; dream up plans and/or schemes; translate between Pokemon and Humans, throw snow balls, count money, and use a cash register. Meowth even uses a computer to decode the cage password in "A Promise is a Promise." How cool is that?!
Let's face it, Meowth is the most talented Pokemon. Sure other Pokemon have some neat special attacks, but can any drive a car or read? Meowth has talents that no other Pokemon(or Meowth, for that matter,) has. It's almost like Meowth is a human.
He wasn't born with these talents as natural abilities. He worked for and practiced on his own to aquire these talents and that's something to admire.
Meowth is a pretty strong Pokemon, considering he gets shocked by Pikachu many times, and recovers by himself without use of a Pokemon Center. He also did that jungle jim bar stunt in "A scare in the Air." He beat a Persian by himself. Most Pokemon pitted against Meowth in the TV show are his weakness (a rock type) and suprisingly he's won against his weakness atleast twice.
Team Rocket's Meowth is a very unique, rare, and valueable Pokemon. If the boss was smart he would have either given Meowth to some Pokemon researches or a Pokemon Center to help translate Pokemon talk or set up a traslating buisness and have people pay to get a translation. Meowth could have half the profits and the boss the other half, or something like that. I think the only reason Meowth is still part of Team Rocket is because the writers have to have bad guys, and Team Rocket wouldn't be the same without him. After his expierience in the episodes "Bound for Trouble" and "The Stun spore detour", I think he would have jumped at the chance to be friends in "A hot water battle." This episode made me realize that the writers were keeping Team Rocket bad guys till the end. It totally dissappointed me, but lately the writers have made me happy. "The Big Baloon Blow-Up", "Got Miltank?", and "Fly to the moon" all give me hope for a good ending.
