This song was written to the tune of "American Pie" by Don McLean.
I was inspired to write it after hearing a Star Wars song that was sung to the tune of Amercan Pie. You can sing or read to the tune of "American Pie" by playing the mid file below, curtosy of Bravenet.
Bravenet has also given me the rest of the background music you may hear on my site except for the SPC mid that I believe I got from Samurai Savings Time.
I have quotes around parts that I quoted from the song; I kept a couple of individual exact words that appear in the original lyrics at about the same certain time, or I moved them to a different place in the song. Other words rhyme with the original words, and many places rhyme in the song like they did in the original.
The digimon words and story belong to their rightful owners. I just take credit for all that I changed which is copy writed by EW 2004.
Some ending words that don't have dashes are sung(held out) for more notes than they have sylables. There are also a few extra notes at the end of lines that are just background music with no words. If there is a blank line below a line of text that signifies the extra music and/or the last word being held with different notes. The extra music at the end might just be one extra note of silence before the words begin, or it could be a couple of notes.
I also tried to end lines where appropiate pauses or abrupt changes in tone were, so that you can follow along easier. I put the word 'chorus' in places that I would be repeating the chorus.
Beware: It is Kari telling the story of season 1, and half of season 2 to Tai at his death bed, so it's kind of sad, and may spoil some of the story for anyone who hasn't seen all of seasons 1 and 2. It is a fast paced song at some points.
