Gay Bars & CafesAlthough Ukrainian gay men are usually very shy & prefer to keep their sexual orientation in secrets there are several gay-friendly venues in Ukrainian capital.All bars listed here are not "gay only" or "men only". They are just gay-friendly (and in the country where most citizens hate gay men this is very risky for the bar owners to be "gay-friendly"). That's why the list is not long, but in these venues you may meet gay men later in the evening.Eric's Bar - 20a, Krasnoarmeyskaya Street, open: 08:00 am - 02:00 am, phone: 044/2359472. Best & most well-known internationally German bar in the heart of Ukrainian capital, very close to subway station "Ploshcha Lva Tolstoho" - evening time crowded by stylish artistic & modern-minded people. There are many gay men among them. Store 205 - 8, Kovpaka Street, open: 09:00 am - 02:00 am, phone: 044/2693249. Hidden place in the city center, located in industrial building - you won't find this place without instructions from the bar owners. Please call them - they speak English perfectly & visit the Store 205. If you are looking for smooth, very young & inexperienced gay teens you won't be disappointed. Stary Kiev - 52, Khreshchatyk Street, open: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, phone: 044/2242503. The place that for many years was the only real gay bar in Kiev. Located on the main street of the city the bar attracts the attention of majority of Kiev's visitors and new comers. After expensive renovation became more straight although gay visitors are often visible here because many of them are used to visit this small and comfortable cafe placed between "Reebok" and "Benetton" boutiques. This new gay-friendly pub began to invite gay community since December 2003, and it is really nice place to visit sometimes, however till now there are not many gay men who go to pick up the sex-adventure in this pub. Brodyachya Sobaka - 10, Nesterovsky Lane, open: 24/7, phone: 044/5360810. Although they were trying to promote this place as "gay cafe" most visitors are straight & this is not possible to make new acquaintances at all. Very sad, boring, hopeless atmosphere and disgusting primitive cuisine. If you want to feel yourself like on the wake you should visit this silly place! Avoid the annoying ugly male prostitutes, most of them have sexual transmitted diseases and work for the owner (he doesn't pay them money, but gives them place to live in capital). Matrosskaya Tishina - 10, Klovsky Descent, open: 11:00 am - 3:00 am, phone: 044/2544882. Expensive restaurant with male strip and good cuisine. It's good to visit together with your new friend for pleasant peaceful evening with candles and slow music. No sexual acquaintances here - just your relaxation after the hard day. It would be very boring to visit this place alone. Roga - 97, Zhylyanska Street, open: 24/7, phone: 050/9049081. New project of the owners of "Brodyachya Sobaka".
