Pop Idol Experience Page 2...

around who is on the panel of judges, is it really Pete Waterman? is it really Nikki Chapman? I was chatting for most of the day to a club singer from Barnsley and he was also voicing his concerns on how nervous he would be in this audition. The difference with the 2nd audition to the first is that the judges would be harsher and they wouldn't be scared to say, "oi you get out you cant sing your crap!"

On the 2nd audition I had to wait longer than the first they were taking more time with the 350 people they had called to this audition. This was making everybody very nervous, and putting some through torture! I waited and waited until 5 hours later and they called my number! By this time my stomach like in the first audition, was doing summersaults again, once I was called in I thought right do as best you can.
Once I had done my performance in front of the panel of judges which were Dr Fox, Pete Waterman, Nikki Chapman and Simon Fuller they looked amazed and shocked that someone like myself would dance and click my fingers to the song I sang which was Tom Jones Sex Bomb. The judges thought the performance went well but they said that unfortunately they couldn't see me as a Pop Idol. I felt fine about this as I took everything they said as constructive criticism. They gave me a lot of tips and were very kind. I think that I had got off lightly compared to some of the other people who auditioned on that day. I remember one girl in particular who was in floods of tears and Pete Waterman had said to her "look up the word singer in the dictionary please!" it was comments like that one I was glad I didn't get!

On the whole I enjoyed going along to the auditions, it has made me more determined as a person to carry on and sing as much as I can, I also love acting too and I will succeed in whatever I set out to do as I am so full of enthusiasm, no matter what the press say they only know me as I was on the programme, in real life I am totally different, but they are only interested in making a story look really good or really bad.

When I saw myself on the "Pop Idol TV Programme" I was a little disappointed in how they portrayed me, as I also felt the same with the caption in "heat magazine". I am a good singer and musician, as I sing and play the piano so I think I understand what notes should sound like and how they should be sang!

Who knows what the next thing will be that I do, but I know that I will always try as best as I can in whatever I set out to do.
