Hip Gear Spylight Protector review by Adam

Adam is the person that informed me about the Spylight Protector. Below is his review along with pictures that he sent to me. Thanks a lot Adam!

"I purchased the unit today -- it was the last one at the store. Here are my first impressions (I can't write a thorough review now, sorry).

This is by far the best out of box light accessories. It fits snuggly, and uses it's own batteries. The light output is fairly impressive. I'm not sure if I like it better than the modded Lightshield -- I'll have to play with it a little more. The viewing angle is HUGE. In total darkness it illuminates the entire GBA and then some.

I did a brief comparison with the modded Lightshield, and right now for me it's too close to call which one lights better. The screen protector on the Spylight is actually nice. The top of it made from non-reflective plastic which helps with the glare.

The most ineteresting thing though is that there is a tiny circuit board inside the unit -- I have no idea what it does, I've only briefly looked at it. It might just be there to hold the led in! place, I don't really know. Anyway, here are a couple pictures, they're not so good.

But I'd recommend at least checking the unit out. One down side, the screen angle is not adjustable."

Thanks again Adam!
