Unofficial reply from a Nintendo Rep.
The following was sent to me by a reader of the site (Lee). It is an unofficial story, addressing the lightness/darkness of the GBA's screen as complained about by many owners.
"FYI.....
Living just blocks from Nintendo Hdqtrs. USA, yesterday I happened to talk
to a Nintendo rep. about the GBA's dark screen. She admitted that this
was
a problem and that big N has received 1000's of complaints.
She stated that big N is going to be selling the GBAs soon with
a "lighter"
screen. She blamed the problem of the screen on the supplier. She didn't
have
specific dates, but said the new units would ship without fanfare. I
assume that
they will ship before christmas after current stocks and manufacturing
slots
are depleted.
Remember, this is unofficial, but I was glad to see Nintendo finally
admit they
had a problem. I was also glad they bought my GBA back from me when I
complained.
