Inside the Energizer Lantern by -Xcandescent-

Things to note about the pictures:
First, those stupid plastic tubes. Those have to be the worst light diffusers I've ever seen. Whatever light comes from the LED's is completely wasted when they're inside those things.

Second, in the switch closeup pic, you'll notice that there appear to be TWO sets of switches. In reality, the switch the user sees is actually a "cover" for the real switch, which is soldered to the wires that lead to the circuit board. It physically mates with the real switch; without disassembling the light, you wouldn't know the difference. The green cover at top left in the full shot is the battery compartment cover. The plastic tubes fit into the white light shield to the right, and are attached to the battery holder using the thin piece of plastic at far top (you can barely see it; it's out of focus).

Those rubber and plastic rings on the wires wrap around hollow posts on the casing. The wires run through the middle of the posts. That is what the light shield actually mounts on; the rubber rings provide the necessary friction to keep the shield from flopping around. Finally, the dark color rings on the resistors are black. =)
I measured the resistance values for both, and they were pretty close to 56 ohms (which is what the color coding indicates).
