Day Five....

The day began with rain but turned out spectacular as we approached Palmer for the final campsite at the state fairgrounds in Palmer.

Day Six
Palmer to Anchorage
Approx. 46 miles

Finally, on Day 6 we get a view of Denali (Mt. McKinley).  I was beginning to think there wasn't really a huge mountain in Alaska; that it was just some tale to get the tourists all the way up there!

Just to be sure I wasn't dreaming I saw a mountain, I asked another rider to snap my picture.  I think my bald spot was reflecting too much light cuz the mountain barely shows!

In Anchorage at last.   Another great weather day, unfortunately the last day of the ride.  Here I am with two of the guys on Team DC wearing our 'victory' jerseys and ready for the final ride-in for the closing ceremonies.
